Horological Meandering

You bring up a good point!

It's definitely possible - if brands increase the prices of new watches, used watches should increase as well. Rising tide should lift new boats and used boats! The big problem is that big brands need to generally have stable prices. And this will hurt the brands too as they can't increase their prices too much without alienating the market. Especially when there's a shortage of watches and people are on waiting lists. If there were no waiting lists and you could go into a store and buy the watch you wanted, you could increase the prices and just say everyone had the chance to buy it when the price was much lower. Now, people are waiting a year or two for a watch (or longer) and the price can't go up too much per year.
