with Grossmann a close second. If one looks at the movement architecture of a Lang & Heyne, the manual movements are absolutely beautifully finished. None of these German three quarter plates that covers the movement. Collectors want to see the mechanism and not ogle at a three quarter plate!
I do not rate A Lange and Sohne after having owned five new watches and three used ones. My argument is if a watch is well made in the first place, one does not need to assemble it twice! And I know from experience that despite being assembled twice, their watches are not the most reliable either.
