There is hardly any truely independent watch journalism.
Most magazines,journalists ....and watch forums are financially dependent from the watch industry (the popular names).

Most independents have risk when they use a completely proprietary movement. Usually these movements are far less reliable than a well regulated ETA movement too. I love that theoretically anyone can service a common movement like ETA.
I sometimes wonder who will service all these "manufacture" movements from the small independents in the future ...
...when many of them will be out of business.

Reliability should be the main target for any movement.
Not so sure about this for the many fancy (beautiful looking and finished) movements from the small hyped independents.

For me watchmaking is not only about movements.
I also appreciate the skills that go into case,dial and movement finish.
