value vs value?

With talk of FPJourne Chronometre Bleu at some point going out of production (and is very hard to get now from Journe boutiques unless as always you are somebody, I offer an alternative which, despite being out of production (with a limited run of only 1500), I suggest the Seiko SPB069. Whereas the CB retails at just under $20,000.00, the Seiko retailed at only $1100.00, and I guarantee that even on the second hand market, one can get a good specimen at 1/15th to 1/20th the cost of the CB on the "pre-owned" circuit.

Yes, the CB is better sized, slimmer, and more "belle horologie", but at a fraction of the cost, you get a pleasurable blue enamel dial which glows in the sunlight, white hands, and is much easier to service as needs be! This may be the best Seiko Presage ever made to date... For the money, I forgive the date with no reservations. You be the judge:

Not really a fair comparison other than both have blue dials.

I will grant you that you get great value for your money with almost any Seiko watch so you have my appreciation. But not an ideal comparison. HAGWE

I was recently offered a FPJ Bleu for $35,000 which seemed a little steep

I had a CS in rose gold earlier, for half that price. How has it gone up so much? Demand vs supply, I think. But you brought up the Presage, of which I bought 4 and still have 3 -- total expenditure for all was well under $10k. They have pedestrian moveme...

It’s the new photo uploader

My photos were b/w and blurry — but now beautiful!

Indeed, great photos. I'd love to have the CB, and would gladly accept one from Mr Journe should he offer, but I find my SPB069 a surpisingly lovely watch that...

is casually elegant. And Seiko won't be offering these at that original price anymore. Very glad that I got one. Best, M

The CB is a wonderful watch that ticks a lot of boxes imho but i wouldn’t buy one at a premium to be honest

The Seiko presage line is amazing and great value for your money . I do own a few of them and wear them a lot . ...

Is the second and last photo the same watch?

I personally own two (2) starlight limited. Both the dials has different shading. Amazing value!

No these are different models. The first is the Shippo with A guilloche dial

The last is just a plain enamel dial

Personally I love that Presage, however I personally find the watch sit quite high on my wrist.

IMHO.. the Presage is indeed a great watch but absolutely no substitute for the CB regardless of the pricing.
