We all come from different backgrounds and are at different locations on our life's journey.
I too have difficulty wrapping my mind around the shifting market.
However, when I began my interest in watches, certain Panerai's with a modified ETA movement sold for more than other horologically significant watches.
Back then, I had difficulty grasping why a Panerai was "worth" more than a Lange 1.
Probably, the people at Richemont had the same problem as I.
"This too shall pass."
At some point, the momentum behind these pricing bulges will wane (reference Panerai).
Time will tell.
You can make more money, but you can't make more time.
Add, "You can't take it with you" to the equation, then why not buy want you want, when you want?
Bless those who can enjoy themselves with what they want, when they want and with those they want.
