They really can come up with where the market ask for. I found always that the maison is a very good entry for new watch lovers. Many start with Seiko, but hey, Longines is far more original and classy. Stronger said, start with Longines and you are ready...

I share your view on the desirability of Longines and I think the brand with its great heritage and history is undervalued. However, Swatch Group as the owner seems to pursue a strategy of positioning Longines more upscale and thus the prices have gone up...
