Technically not quarantine

Mar 15, 2020,23:57 PM

But as close to it as ever in Europe:

- both adults working from home
- all kids 'home schooled' for the next 3 weeks + 2 weeks holidays after that
- we do not see grand parents in person anymore
- very limited outside activities: we do see some friends but go for a walk and keep a healthy social distance doing so (1-2m)
- zero travelling/public transport
- we pretty much cancelled any shopping for the next 10 days: eggs from the chicken in the garden, vegetables from a shared field, preserves and canned veggies from the basement... we are getting vegetarians in the process ;-)

A great authorised activity was getting for a motorbike ride with 8 friends - very safe from a virus standpoint, but we could not get a beer in a pub afterwards :-(

I have never experienced anything like it. And we are far from being catastrophists in the family (we do have a few doctors in the family and they are gloomy). Hospitals have installed large tents for pre-sorting incoming patients and all non-vital medical operations have been cancelled.

I hope this will lead to a big movida celebration once it is cured/pandemy has passed, and that it can curb some unnecessary consumption habits too
Everyone stay safe! Curbing this requires everyone's effort

I told my wife that when she leaves Wal-Mart, Target, or where ever after buying what we need to get through this uncertain time, that if something just doesn't feel right it's probably isn't. There's bound to be bad guys just waiting for someone to come ...

I wish we could be more surgical using a scalpel not a hammer. Let’s protect the elderly and those with underlying problems. I guess the rule is no over reacting will be negatively viewed . Desperate times require desperate actions. God be with us.

We only go out for a daily forest walk of about one hour. For the rest we just stay home, enjoy a good cigar and tidy up the house. Please stay safe and let’s hope it blows over soon.
