Quinting never caught on IMO
Quinting introduced its first watches maybe 11-13 years ago? Ping and I saw them for the 1st time long time ago when we were in Lucerne but the watches never really did anything for me. When strapped to the wrist, those with hairy wrists (lol from this week's FWS thread) will see their wrist hairs all day long

A Transparent Watch?
Not sure where to put this so Mods please move as necessary. Came across this thread on another website and it seems quite interesting if it is really fully transparent. Where did the movement go. Also wonder how reliable the movement is. Anyone know anyt...
i've seen these and did a bit of investigation
sadly its quartz and the movement is hidden in the sides of the case similar to the Omega Magique of the 80's. when you look at the pics of the watch you can see that the subdials touch the edge of the case and are operated from there. very clever techniq...
Saw these watches in Switzerland...
They do look pretty cool and unique in person but yeah...they are quartz.
Now, if it's a mechanical transparent watch you want...

No idea...
No reason to believe that they wouldn't be perfectly functional, but looking at the custom work on the movement, they're unlikely to be inexpensive! Cheers, pplater.

plz do tell us more about this piece! at the same time, i know this very unique cartier on the mkt. price is a quite stiff & good thing its in santos case which i m totally immuned. its a collectors piece less than 50 piece i think for this plain pall...

...that kind of takes away the transparent effect. Instead of a clear watch, you get the hairy mystery dial! Cheers, Daos

I pass the Quinting shop every day on the way to work. I see the watches every time I pass through Geneva Airoport. They are a nice achievement to produce, but I have never understood the necessity of having ones arm as the background of the dial. Don
