Horological Meandering

My interest was piqued by AdC's original promotional images, which showed their workshop(s) with both watchmakers' and jewellers' benches ...

Looking then at the (early) AdC movements, the angles & proportions of the cocks & bridges seemed a little 'odd' - not quite 'right' - as if they'd been finished by a craftsperson who wasn't a watchmaker. The finishing - although to a high standard - looked like jewellers' work: artistic, but not like a micro-engineers'. That's all. As I've said elsewhere, I may well be wrong and, anyway, I have nothing else to say on the subject other than 'de gustibus ...' and 'caveat emptor'.
