More is more fun for me

I have a friend who follows a 10 watch rule, selling pieces which he stopped wearing often to get new ones he would potentially will wear more.
I can’t seem to follow the rule. There are far too many wonderful pieces out there I’d like to own. It doesn’t have to be a hard hitter too. There are some within my reach in 2-3 weeks of hard work and others I can only dream about (1-2 years of planned savings).
I can accomodate more pieces and don’t want to stop the joy of collecting pieces I like, nor like the idea of selling pieces to buy new ones. To me, to sell is an anti-joy and I seldom do it.
Hard hitters (>$20k) to me are relative to my funds. I know I will never see the day of tourbillons, perpetual calenders, and grande complications. That is not my segment, and aspiring to “reach” those levels are an anti-joy too. So I reflected. Do I want to scrimp save and sell to buy a tourbillon, or do I prefer walking to the watch store every few months to admire and consider buying another piece. I prefer the latter.
Medium hitters ($8-19k) seem to be released on a daily basis. There are really nice ones out there. I don’t seem to mind 20-30 medium hitters in my collection (that is quite a pleasant dream to have for me).
Light hitters (>$7k) are a trap too. One can buy too many for no real good reasons, and end up with lots of “thrash”. It is much like a car enthusiast who ends up with rusty old half completed vintage cars clogging up his garage.
I believe my sweet spot is near. Somewhere in the boundaries of 25 watches.
