It is a bit sad, but they had to do something. No one knew them, even with just a couple of thousand watches in production this was borderline.

The forum and the knowledge here is of course not representative. J*D relied on Asia, a very competitive market and with their 'no ambassador' approach it was hard, then COVID...
I am glad that SWATCH has the power and determination to keep the brand alive, otherwise they would probably not exist anymore. So hopefully a couple of handful of very very rich people can be found each year to commission a piece.
I was lucky to grab a recent model of the Grande Seconde collection and I am very happy about that. Now I want to lean back, enjoy mine and admire the marvels that will be created in the future for the 'six figure customers'.

It’s a shame that JD has stopped most of its production. As a niche brand within the Swatch group, JD’s business model pales in comparison to its cousins

And the size is perfect with 39mm. It is sad that Swatch did not invest enough in the brand to make it a success!

A shame because they had such a strong brand identity. But it's not surprising as they didn't seem to gain much traction with watch enthusiasts. Hope they are able to relaunch is some form. Cheers, John
