Horological Meandering

I would pay for premium finishing.  However, I think it dilutes a brand to have different levels of a watch on its regular menu.

We look at brands in their history when they offered multiple levels of finishing; for instance some brands used to offer a lower level of finishing in 14K gold cases as opposed to higher levels in 18K gold pieces.  This creates confusion in my opinion that is unnecessary for today's market.

There is one thing that I will not pay for and that is "premium regulation" something that was off-the-menu somewhat-offered for the AP Jules Audemars Chronometer.  This I thought was silly and I was wondering if that level of regulation would be kept after a service.
