Hi there, He is looking for a watch and this is the info he gave me to suggest him a watch that suits him: - He is not a collector, hence it will be one watch only... - Brand he prefer, but not limited to are, JLC, Omega, IWC ... - It should be a " modern...

Thank you for your reply. This for example?

Yes, precisely.

Or if he wants something more interesting, he could try to hunt down a steel Geophysic, which has a dead seconds feature. Might be pushing the budget, however.

The new Omega Constellations are quite nice 👍🏻

 By: Clueless_Collector : October 16th, 2020-09:36
I think it meets a lot of his criteria ...

You're absolutelly right. Thanks

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-09:39
I own a constellation (Year 1991) and love them. Never serviced and runs like hell!

The JLC mentioned above is perfect!

This Omega would be my pick.

 By: BigAppleBill : October 16th, 2020-09:44
Check out the detailing on the dial. ...

Thank you for your comment

Helps a lot

Another Omega recommendation

Tresor De Ville Steel Chronometer watch. + It is modern with sufficient heritage. + It is elegant - with 3 hands and date. + Leather band. +/- hand wound + steel only ++ Dial colour - blue +++ ~ EUR6,000 Image from Omega website ...

Thank you

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-09:54
Second time i see this watch in this thread and i really like the suggestion! Master Chronometer Fantastic.

Great minds think alike!😉

 By: BigAppleBill : October 16th, 2020-10:03
If I wasn’t trying to pare down my collection I would be tempted to add this one. Slim, classic, elegant, robust, with influence from George Daniels. What’s not to like?

It goes to show that this watch is the one...

 By: W72 : October 16th, 2020-10:21
it exudes elegance and is Master Chronometer certified as well. It has a beautiful blue textured dial to boot. I think you should really, really consider making an exception and make the acquisition . You will be wearing it all day long with a big smile o...

For a one-watch guy it’s perfect. But I already own something similar enough.

 By: BigAppleBill : October 16th, 2020-10:33
I think you are correct that I would enjoy wearing this one. But I’m at the point when considering a new watch that I ask myself if I would prefer it over a similar watch I already own. Plus, my preference is for no date, though this one is very tastefull...

I agree !

Great weekend ahead to you

Perhaps a Reverso, which is very recognizable JLC line and he could even personalize the back side given it’s a keeper?

 By: FabR : October 16th, 2020-10:05
By the way, here’s my one and only JLC, bought at my AD around 2006 and still sitting in some Italian safe...it’s a Master Ultrathin that’s probably long out of production...almost fitting his criteria as well, except for the lack of date and the price (I...

DJ = Date Just? If so, no Rolex for him.

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-11:19
I wanted to suggest him the new OP in 41 mm and in blue, but no Rolex

UN Classico with enamel dial perhaps? These appear to be attractive watches but I’ve not seen in the metal.

 By: Jay (Eire) : October 16th, 2020-10:26
40mm, a classic size. There are other variations but these two below were most interesting to me. And something a little more sporty so perhaps not the focus. The Marine Torpilleur. 42mm. ...

Oh yes... [nt]

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-11:08

It is. I am drawn to the black dial more though...maybe seen enough blue for a lifetime !

 By: Jay (Eire) : October 16th, 2020-14:50
Would like to see these in the metal at some point.

Nice. Thank You Jay [nt]

I have the solution ! ...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : October 16th, 2020-10:58
In my opinion, Omega are making some great watches at the moment. This watch has bags of heratage being a Seamaster and a high quality movement developed by a legend. The cherry on the cake is it’s a limited piece that is currently available, if he’s quic...

That is what i am talking about, Captain.

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-11:11
Thank you. This watch is very nice and such a timeless piece. Isnt there another version of this watch with central second? Your version is clearly a favourite!

Depends on how long he’s willing to hunt

By: Time to watch : October 16th, 2020-11:14
But my recommendation would be this London edition All the best H. ...

I’m willing to post wrist shots of mine,

If it will help with the decision making process. Waiting for the right watch is always preferable to getting what’s immediately available In my experience. Good luck with the decision. Sincerely H.

If you dont mind, please do it for us :)

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-11:25
I just found to "paris" edition as well. Looks pretty neat too

Certainly, will be my pleasure.

I’ll do so tomorrow. H.

That dial seems hard to capture.

You’re very welcome !

It has many different faces depending on the lighting. H.

Nomos Tangomat

 By: donizetti : October 16th, 2020-11:30
Is of course under his budget ceiling but otherwise ticks all the boxes, I think, and in my experience plays well with people with a similar wish list. Best Andreas

Yes

 By: donizetti : October 16th, 2020-12:23
That’s the one. Strong Bauhaus historical credentials might please your friend. And at this price point the movement is a treat. Best Andreas

Thank You so much [nt]

 By: @lberti : October 16th, 2020-12:39

JLC Reverso i would say [nt]

 By: Watchonthewrists : October 16th, 2020-13:47
Not sure if he wants to take the independent road 😆. But there are some marvels at that price point. Maybe a nice Habring2 😉

Thanks input. Reverso rather not, as he wants a "round" one.

 By: @lberti : October 17th, 2020-00:43
Will take a look on Habring

I know this is not necessarily on the list, but

 By: walidk : October 16th, 2020-17:27
Has your friend looked at Grand Seiko? I think all the above suggestions are great options (the limited Seamaster mentioned above by Cpt Scarlet is super cool as is its center seconds sibling and the JLC is of course top). My reason for suggesting GS is t...

My pleasure - happy to chime in!

 By: walidk : October 17th, 2020-18:17
Best of luck to your friend in his hunt and do let us know what the final choice is! All the best, Walid K

I would go with a JLC Master Ultra Thin Date ...

 By: destrodan : October 16th, 2020-18:23
...or, if he can stretch that 'hard limit' a bit more, the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon Can't get more classic than this in my opinion.

Something from Grand Seiko might work great.

Your friend can always remove the bracelet and add the strap. ...

It takes time to find the only one watch

 By: PoyFR : October 17th, 2020-11:55
There are so many watches that will match the criteria and budget, We all know and remember what we first wanted but in most case we changed or changed watches. Hard to say which watch will match best without knowing a minimum about wrist’s size, the pers...
