I was thinking about this exact topic today before reading this timely post!
1) For me the movement depends somewhat - if an everyday watch I actually prefer automatic slightly as it is simply easier, I am ashamed to admit. For dress watches or periodic wear casual pieces than I prefer manual. 2) Definitely no-date. 3) Definitely strap (almost all bracelets are uncomfortable for me). 4) Definitely stainless steel or white metal (white gold one day). Lastly, although I love/respect complications, my most worn pieces are typically the simplest. At the end of the day, the watch needs to tell time with style and I do not necessarily need it to tell me anything else. This has taken me quite a while to fully appreciate, however.

The only difference, not a paradigm as I do like the occasional automatic for something that you take off a few days and put back on. Or on a trip just something to have on. But for enthusiast pieces , this is the way.

1. Either, but should be beautiful. and I'm a sucker for long power reserve. That would be my tie-breaker. 2. No date. 3. Strap, bracelet okay but picky and buckle/clasps must be thin! 4. Ti or Rose/Pink Gold, Steel is third.
Exact same choice of me, except concerning the metal:

It's not a dealbreaker, but I can easily do without the date.
The rest is pretty much either choice s OK, which could be determined by the watch.

Depends on the use. At work I prefer with date, since I often check it.
Off working hours I prefer without. Manual, strap, white metal (don't bother which).
