Horological Meandering

Curious as to your preferences on several general attributes of a timepiece:

The only difference, not a paradigm as I do like the occasional automatic for something that you take off a few days and put back on. Or on a trip just something to have on. But for enthusiast pieces , this is the way.

Pretty much sums it up for me.

That is my favorite combination for any day, any occasion.... 🙂👍

Automatic, no date, comfy bracelet and Ti

I enjoy seeing the responses.

1. Either, but should be beautiful. and I'm a sucker for long power reserve. That would be my tie-breaker.
2. No date.
3. Strap, bracelet okay but picky and buckle/clasps must be thin!
4. Ti or Rose/Pink Gold, Steel is third.

I prefer precious, especially pink or yellow gold or platinum. But otherwise, definitely manual, no-date, strap!

1. Automatic or manual movement: manual in theory but for diving watches automatic is a safer and more convenient choice, with maybe the exception of luminors with their crown lever which makes winding less of a chore. Give me an automatic over a manual with no mechanical feel, however. Interestingly the opposite of cars where there are still mediocre automatic transmissions on the market. Nothing drives me as crazy as a subpar slushbox.

2. Date or no-date: I grew up with a day-date SKX but I have slowly drifted to the no-date camp, dwindling eyesight aiding.

3. Strap or bracelet: I have a well documented lovestory with sharkmesh or rubber for diving. In the case of a bracelet, it has to balance the watch head perfectly, think vintage seamaster or 36mm 2500 railmaster.

The rest is pretty much either choice s OK, which could be determined by the watch.
