I've done executive protection for the Uber co-founder for almost a year, and despite not thinking about him individually in any unfavorable way, my opinion of the company itself has always been extremely polarized. I don't like the lax process of driver onboarding, they have to do it a certain way in order to hire the requisite number of drivers, but that means that many are going to be at least questionable individuals if not outright criminals. Personally, I've used the service less than five times in my lifetime, on the odd occasion that I absolutely had to. I'm not a fan of Lyft either, but they at least seem to run the company somewhat more ethically.... A massively questionable, compromised form of business. At a certain level of notoriety and wealth, managing security and safety becomes a round the clock endeavor involving dozens of people....
