Perhaps a little disingenuousness on the timezone changing, since if you travel to the new timezone, it's automatically changed. But the end credit scene of that video where's flipping up his wrist to the see the time was very very cute! The real question...

Well done IWC

Tackling your indirect opponent straight on is the way to go... The smart watch craze is less visible in Europe than say Asia or the US but the digital wave is a massive one and should be scarier than the quartz one IMHO

Traditional crafts

It is obvious that traditional watchmaking becomes a purely intellectual taste for fine things vs. digital watches. The quartz had the same effect: more 'complications', cheaper and more precise... only advantages on paper. But lacking soul.

fun advertizing by IWC.

Im sincerely hoping interest in mechanical watches remain relevant to a broader audience - long term. However I feel the industry in general need to come up with some fresh ideas to remain interesting.

I think it sad that so many people take their iPhones from a pocket/handbag to check the time, just like my great-grandfather took his pocket watch from his waistcoat. The iPhone needs charging for, say, two hours but is usually left overnight, provided t...

I thought Kurt Klaus was dead 😯 Good to see he’s still kicking around and antagonizing smart watch salesmen at 85. Go Kurt!

I really enjoyed these, thank you!

Will IWC return to selling posters and put Mr Klaus and the "employee" on them? Remember the ones from the early 2000's that were very macho and not PC enough for today's market? I think I still have a couple somewhere.

I can’t get past the ridiculous size of the watch on that gentleman’s wrist. The strap almost wraps double around the wrist.

I dislike large watches. I admit it. And it’s been a good thing for my pocket. Large watches kill the temptation to buy.

"How long have you been in the watchmaking industry"? Priceless!

Good to see that Kurt Klaus is still around!

I have a great admiration . .

. . for Klaus and all those other designers and sculptures of prototype watches for the manufacturers plus their engineers who make the machine tools. Artists, engineers and mathematicians all. It is a privilege to wear their products. Clive
