Horological Meandering

... on my Breguet 7787 from the "factory" standard brown to black, and was curious what your thoughts might be. Here is Breguet's marketing image of the the brown strap with a Photoshop rendering with a black strap: ... and a side-by-side of the two strai...

i cant explain why as black dialled steel watches look great with brown straps, but coloured gold just needs a brown strap imo. G

I like it with black strap :) but this should be seen in reality for final decision Cheers D

and here the brown strap works better IMHO. But what about less obvious colours? Deep navy due to the hands colour and grey would work fine... Fx

The brown strap with brown stitching is the perfect match to the warm rose gold that Breguet use for their cases. Changing to a black strap may pick out the black dial printing a little more, but it will unbalance the watch to my eyes. Yes, the watch 'hea...

In general, would agree that going to a darker brown or blue might be more typical... but a nice black strap would also be a fine choice. I think we tend to respond to what we typically see - which is brown with RG. Go for it Sam - you can also switch thi...

The rose gold case and brown strap just work so well together. This model in particular has a very handsome look... a nice blend of classic Breguet style with a casual feel. The black strap looks a little too dressy IMO, and I think it takes away from the... 

Hello Sam, I am thinking that a set of thin crocodile straps from Camille Fournet with matte finish and black stitching would do the trick. The watch colour being light allows you to transform from brown to black very easily. Best wishes, Joel

..though i will be honest and say that i prefer the brown strap because it has a touch of warmth/redness that suits the red gold. Hwever i am biaised as i am brown-haired and a bit tanned by nature. :)
