In general, would agree that going to a darker brown or blue might be more typical... but a nice black strap would also be a fine choice. I think we tend to respond to what we typically see - which is brown with RG.

personally i dont think gold looks right with a black strap
i cant explain why as black dialled steel watches look great with brown straps, but coloured gold just needs a brown strap imo. G

and here the brown strap works better IMHO. But what about less obvious colours? Deep navy due to the hands colour and grey would work fine... Fx

Hello Sam, I am thinking that a set of thin crocodile straps from Camille Fournet with matte finish and black stitching would do the trick. The watch colour being light allows you to transform from brown to black very easily. Best wishes, Joel

..though i will be honest and say that i prefer the brown strap because it has a touch of warmth/redness that suits the red gold. Hwever i am biaised as i am brown-haired and a bit tanned by nature. :)
