just like you. Before I knew a little bit about watches I felt intimidated going in to high end places to look. If I wasn't looking to actually buy something I didn't want to waste the sales person's time by having them get a watch out of the case that I knew I wasn't going to buy. But after having some very friendly sales people tell me that it is their job to get the watches out and they realize that most people are not going to buy, I have been able to relax. In most shops in Vegas and New York they love to get the watches out of the case. There are the few places that if you don't have a high end piece on your wrist or aren't dressed right they won't give you the time of day. F#%k them. I work in a service business and I learned a long time ago that you can't judge what people can afford by their appearance. What is stupid about this way of treating people is most of these sales people work on commission and they may be missing a sale and not even realizing it. So if I am there just to look I just ignore them and they ignore me. If you spend a small amount of time on this site you will know more about watches than any sales person at any level of store. Most of them just know what the company has trained them to know, nothing more. If you want some advice on what to buy or just more in depth knowledge about a watch you are interested in, ask people here. You will get much better and more reliable info.
