I buy and wear what I love. If for some reason the love isn’t there anymore, I trade/sell what I’m not wearing.

I also remind myself that nobody cares what watch I’m wearing. It’s a very personal thing that only I care about and that makes me happy when I’m wearing a certain piece. I tend to let things happen organically rather than going by some particular criteria or organized plan.

I am asking members, what are your strategies to enjoy their current holdings, while they pursue future additions? Do you put you collection on a calender rotation? Are you OCD and track your wearing days? What do you do to rekindle that fire for a safe q...

Wear whatever i feel like wearing.

Or what is fashionable / appropriate for an event... or wear dad's timepiece for sentimental reasons. Enjoy your time.

I do the same...

... but rediscovering them, means I have a “new” watch every few months.

That is exactly my current status and strategy…enjoy what I have and not chase…

I make requests but never ask for updates and pushes, if it comes, it will. For current collection, I rotate most if not all of my watches on a weekly basis. I will wind and take a set for each week. No safe queens well, some are safer than others but nev...

I don’t know how to classify them…

Maybe you can help me? www.watchprosite.com

What a collection!! You are a perfect example of a collector with an extensive collection. How do you belly up to the bar and decide?

There has to be a bell curve distribution of wearing. What is your most worn? Least worn? Do you wear more than 1 watch a day? Totally impressed and appreciative of your insight. -John

Thank you kindly…

My most worn watches are tool watches from Rolex and Omega, Nautilus and Aquanauts, and dress watches from PP and Lange, equal frequency of rotation. I usually took a set of 5-7 for each week to rotate one per day. The least worn so far are WT cloisonné a...

I changes the straps on fixed rotation. Lots of straps. Also i wear my watches on weekly rotation. And i try to buy watches in diverse manner (different materials, dial color, functions, etc).

Great point about straps! No sense buying a new house when you can buy new decor.

Just bought a couple new straps for my Panerai. Not cheap, but much less than a new watch.

I can agree that I have developed a a philosophy about timing. If a watch is hot to me now, it should be hot to me 1, 3 or 5 years later.

I developed a database of "Hot" watches that I like. Funny is that very few have dropped off the list. As the saying goes, "A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush." How do you handle "in hand" watches? Are there anniversary watches? Weekend...

I wear what i like , depends also on the occasion and for example what kind of weather .

Try to rotate a few watches every month so i can give them all a bit of love they deserve. Also try to stop buying a lot of watches as I noticed that i don’t wear some watches for a long time.

Monthly rotation is a good plan (thinking to myself).

I keep my collection small..

… so things are not neglected for long. I only have hand wind watches so I wind them all each day. I obtain watches that speak to me.

I see it as an optimization problem

Maximize pleasure given (regrettably) limited funds. I find that to enjoy my watches I need to wear them so that puts upper limits on how many I have (because at some point I wear any given watch too rarely) and a tendency to increase (my perceived) quali...

I enjoy tracking the timing accuracy of watches in my collection.

I use an iOS app called WatchTracker and I would wear a watch 5-10 days and get measurements once or twice a day. I would rotate and do multiple measurements for a watch. This really keeps me wear most of watches. I have 3 winders, and sometimes I would d...

Enjoying what you have while pursuing what you want. I find my older watches are sitting in a safe for months on end while I pursue my next acquisition. It's in the nature of human beings to want novel things. Not just watches too. All I can say is, somet...
