Look Ma, no date ! LOL, for the purists out there this is big decision. And the dials here most definitely have not be ruined by the inclusion of a date window.
Anyways, I stopped the Kurono Boutique in Aoyama earlier to see these watches. And so for anyone that might be interested here are some hands-on pictures of these new watches.
These watches are releasing later this week in two dial variants, I can’t recall the numbers for each series, in the hundreds I believe.
The blue dial was particularly captivating in person. I don’t believe the online photos or my photos for that matter capture it correctly.
It may be a tad lighter than what my pictures show, and it does not remind me of any other blue dial I’ve seen before. For what it’s worth, I was told Asaoka mixes his own colours when prototyping dials.
Also, the kanji markers and the fact that the brand name is less prominent make this one my choice (if I was making a choice). I also like on both dials how the power reserve and the 24hr sub dial are both somewhat deep recesses, it adds something to the overall attractiveness of the watch.
38mm case and a little over 11mm tall (sapphire included). It’s a nice size.
Good luck to anyone that’s going to try to nab one online later in the week.
