Girard Perregaux

Some new shots with my Abarth ref 4946 Havana dial

Some shots from earlier today with my Neo-vintage (2003) Girard-Perregaux Abarth 38 mm chronograph ref 4946. Love the Havana dial. 50 pieces were made The regular production ref 4946 in-itself is not seen that often. It will either have a solid or a display caseback. It always has a date and always has three sub-dials ... BUT .... when this special commission was made, the Abarth folks requested that the date be removed and for there to be two sub-dials instead of three. (Now we all know the close relationship GP had with the automotive racing world. Gino Macaluso, the Torino-born and well loved owner of GP used to be a champion rally car driver himslef. And he drove a Fiat Abarth.) So these exceptions were made for this special edition Abarth πŸ˜‰ Hope you enjoyed the backstory and come to appreciate GP Neo-vintage as much as I have. It was an amazing era. 🀝
