Laureato from 1996 - ref 8010

After reading lots of old and new posts here and the FB forum about GP/ Laureato, this model grows on me, especially the earlier model 8010.

But I could not find one in HK.

So I visited an AD to try the current 40mm and 38 mm model a couple of weeks ago to see how’s it like, But no, it looks too big on my small wrist (15.5cm to be exact).

Without putting one on my wrist, I believed that the ref 8010, 36mm size should fit me well (slightly smaller than my IWC Mark XII).

Read many posts here again from Crown Comfort, amanico, and Marc, and sought many many useful info from the Marc, without lingering too long (3-4 days maybe...), I decided to make an offer from a seller in Japan.

Here is my 80100.1.11.254, with some new shots taken by my 6 yrs old Leica Q.

Hope you like the watch (and the photos) : )

Your research and tenacity has paid off. In the future, this will become more and more rare and collectible. I saw the same thing happen with the VC original 222. Excellent choice. 🤝

Super. Congrats.

You’ll see on my post a little further up that I began to explore this 8010 world too. And also with Marc’s help. I’m not sure if I will make a move in the near term. I need to do some more research.
