During setting operation, the cannon pinion SLIPS on the center wheel pinion and the movement continues to run normally. Depending on the movement and variation in production some movements respond to a great or lesser degree to subtle 'braking' of the movement by this method. The watch is designed to have this 'clutch slip'.
No harm is done by this reversing pressure. In fact, more wear is done by travelling excessive rotations when not needed, e.g. winding forward 11 hours instead of back 1. So unless you have a particular QP that must go forward, don't worry.

Pseudo Hacking?
By: hub6152 : April 18th, 2019-09:46
While doing endless research and reading about these beautiful watches I’ve just discovered they’re non hacking. Do they “pseudo hack” like many other non hacking watches do by exerting a little back pressure on the crown? How do you guys set the time ini...

The CB movement pseudo hacks apparently, but I personally never risk it. I just start winding mine a couple of seconds before the time at which the watch stopped. This normally gets me within a second or so, which is perfectly fine for me.
They do...

but I don’t do it. I’m not bothered about what second it is right now 🙂 My main interest in precision is on an intellectual level of “knowing” it is a well constructed movement and the assurance that the timing doesn’t drift if I wear it over a longer per...

All I've read says no damage will be caused, but I totally agree that it doesn't feel right, so I don't do it.
Thank you for chiming in.

welcome here 🙂 Wonderful with an other member whom caught the Journe bug! I’ve heard the same thing. As long as you don’t turn the hands backwards for several hours. But let me ask the manufacture next time I talk to them. Best Christian
