RDM market
RDM’s are going for at least 80K these days. This is not an anomaly as I’ve seen several pieces exchange hands privately. Some as high as 125k+. The prototype went for 200-250k at auction last year.
I’d like to also point out that this isn’t the only Journe that has gone up significantly in the last year. Lots of buyers from Asia gobbling up early Journes. Do I think it’s up too fast? YES.
But the market is the market for better or worse. Is this gonna be sustainable? Who knows?
But to put things in context, the most produced watch at Journe is the Chrono Bleu at roughly 1500 pieces (lifetime production to date). That’s way less than some limited production Pateks. Think about that.
A PT/YG RDM brass has less than 120 Pieces made. That’s 5 less than the Hodinkee Skipper at 125 (limited edition). That’s not a lot considering it’s the most common version of the RDM line.
For me what boggles the mind in this current market is seeing an Elegante 48 Titalyt go for more than double retail. Now that's crazy - but also confirmation that the demand for Journe and the increase in prices is not a fluke.
