The quintessential Journe — which one ?
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-03:45
Hi guys. New on the FPJ forum...been toying with the idea of adding one to the stable. Want to get all of your input. Let’s just say you can only have one Journe. Or, if, you had to choose the one Journe that best represents the brand, and all within the ...
Resonance
By: Jay (Eire) : October 6th, 2019-04:15
There’s a new Resonance due in 2020, I’ve no idea what that might be in terms of dial side (movement is apparently new / updated). The below is the original, PT case, 38mm, white gold dial, brass movement. This reference, in 38mm and 40mm, ran in several ...
Thanks for sharing mate

How many in total do you think were created over the 10-12 year space ? The Resonance is special for sure.
The Resonance!
By: sham1 : October 6th, 2019-04:27
That is the watch that make me look at Journe twice!
For many years, the Resonance was only made by FPJ
By: sham1 : October 6th, 2019-09:19
and one of the reasons for this is the challenge that this complication provided that not many embarked on it. It was the signature Journe. Today Arnold & Son also makes a Resonance but for me, the FPJ Resonance is still the Resonance.
No idea but I am sure
By: sham1 : October 6th, 2019-09:20
it was a lot less than the final edition Resonance.
I have to say
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-04:34
I do have my eye set on the Optimum. But I wanted to hear everyone’s opinion. I never liked these sort of questions, “if there could only be one...”, or “What is the quintessential piece...” but they do put things into greater perspective, and also distil...
The Optimum has a great Set of properties
By: nafetS : October 6th, 2019-04:50
Simple, yet complicated. Interesting Combination of complications. Off-centered hours/minutes subdial typical for journe. Very well balanced Overall dial. Great movement in rose gold and with the dead second shown on the Back. I can Just find nothing wron...
To me Resonance or the Chronometre Souverain
By: ChristianDK : October 6th, 2019-04:37
The Resonance. It is unique, interesting, wearable, beautiful, iconic. My personal favorite. My other favorite is the Chronometre Souverain. That is the perfect daily wearer. Probably one of the most accurate mechanical watches out there. Very reliable mo...
My guess is

The Optimum and the Resonance.
The Tourbillon is very much loved
By: ChristianDK : October 6th, 2019-04:55
For some that is the quintessential one! The GRAIL Journe!! I’m not it’s biggest fan but I I like it a lot. In terms of accuracy, a Tourbillon will lessen the accuracy which Mr Journe makes no secret of. It is something visual and technical. A very extrov...
Thank you Christian
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-10:12
Your comments matter a lot. I think the nicest thing about being a watch collector is the journey itself. Whether it’s the CS, Resonance, Optimum or a tourbillon, making that decision and arriving at the end point is what matters the most. Still leaning t...
I absolutely agree, Gatsby
By: ChristianDK : October 6th, 2019-11:20
The discovery, the research the emotional journey. The Optimum is very much my taste. Im still debating with myself if I want a black or a grey dial. It is something I hope to make happen in a not too distant future. However, the new Resonance is happenin...
Yes, good point! this is an important point in the equation..
By: ChristianDK : October 6th, 2019-14:23
All three utilize the Remontoir. I agree with what others stated - it is still one of the nicest Tourbillons out there. Extremely beautiful and several combinations that are stunning and perfect in their own right, just as with the Resonance.
The first Journe that caught my attention,
By: Alex83 : October 6th, 2019-09:59
Was the Octa Calendrier, and I still think it's one of his most charming ones. That freaky calendar around half of the dial is so unique! I guess most people will recommend the resonance. It is very nice watch and has a ton of Journe DNA off course, I had...
Wow Alex... thanks for sharing
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-10:07
Those are some really beautiful pieces you’ve got there. I’ve heard about the winding on the Resonance. It would be a problem for me especially since I’m always on the go and perpetually in a rush
Amazing
By: ChristianDK : October 6th, 2019-11:22
Is that your t-30, Alex? its is a dream piece
Was... Yes.
By: Alex83 : October 7th, 2019-15:13
An important Journe for sure. Opening the case back to see the mouvement felt like opening a treasure chest.
FP has famously said his favorite watch is the next one...
By: cmmnsens : October 6th, 2019-10:05
But in the context of the brand's history, if I could only choose one, I would go for either the Resonance, CS or Optimum. Or if you really want to go for the less obvious - the T-30. Resonance: for its technical brilliance and historical significance. CS...

A quote from a blog post by our friend TJG (O: I hope it’s OK to quote here): “Interestingly enough, during one of my discussions with Journe, I had pitched the question regarding what he thinks would be one of his most memorable achievements. Such a ques...

Very nice summary there and it does put things into perspective
Centigraphe
By: shafran : October 6th, 2019-12:05
I have one. I had a cb and a cs. I love the Centigraphe.
Thanks mate ;-)
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-22:06
That would be...the next level up for me lol
There's no one real answer...
By: TJG : October 6th, 2019-16:53
Because it depends mostly on what you have in your collection. That said, if you want one icon to seal the deal I would think a Resonance. The choice of which one I will leave it up to you, no need to be so specific. The Resonance is also a timepiece that...
Thank you mate
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-22:10
Agree that there is no one straight answer to my question. It is interesting that the Resonance has been brought up numerous times throughout this discussion. And this I must say, seems to be the watch that put FPJ on the world map. I kinda share your sen...
Thank you CR
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-22:16
First and foremost that’s a beautiful watch that you own — congrats! Agree that the aesthetics of FPJ are seemingly unanimous across, and I would have to try them on my wrist. I reckon it’s all in the nuance, and God is in the detail. I have an inclinatio...
Amazing Tourbillon!
By: IndieFan : October 7th, 2019-02:01
I'm guessing that's an '01 cased Tourbillon... it's a bit difficult for me to tell in your pic, is that a rose gold case with white gold labyrinthe dial? Beautiful piece
Wauw, what a set you posted there.
By: ChristianDK : October 7th, 2019-12:28
That T is ultra rare! I really appreciate your point about how different the pieces wear. The real test is on the wrist. However it is hard not to get just a little jealous when we see pictures like this!
Sincere thanks to everyone of you
By: Mr.Gatsby : October 6th, 2019-22:27
This has been a fruitful discussion, and really enjoyed the different perspectives and also the photos that were shared here on this post. I think it is almost definite that I will end up owning a Journe in this life time. However for the most part of my ...

It brought it an unique movement architecture & concept & very much Journe 😍

I started with the MOP Resonance, followed by a CS, then the 3rd generation Tourbillon. At one point , I sold all of them to purchase something else. Then when I have my mean again, I bought the Resonance first generation. It is iconic but setting the tim...
