Last night I was lucky to see the watch during a ZOOM meeting with Montres Journe....
And even got to say hello to F.P. He says Hi! ;-)
I have a few additional details. The dial is absolutely stunning with a very soft yellow hue. It is solid gold and no plating. The texture is done by hand with a similar technique as was used with the very few first dials that he made himself. It is also unvarnished which means it will most likely oxidize with time. Creating that special and charming character some of us love.
Those who have been able to secure one have a stunning, stunning piece coming!
An other detail is that the movement has been given small apertures to the closed bridge. This is so the gears behind are slightly exposed. I don’t have a picture yet but hope to receive one.
I also forwarded the question posed by our member “fourtaelsgold” if yellow gold dials are coming back. The answer was, as expected, a clear no. This is only for this hommage.

I’m curious to see the texture of the dial. It looks quite granular in the press release.
This is clearly a hommage to the original but it is not an exact copy- can you spot the differences?

I love this one. A small fun detail is that this one was built by Mr Journe Personally. It had its first service last year.

I just compared the seconds hand to those on my 2005 Resonance. To the naked eye the difference is tiny. Mine had the date issue as well but I just lived with it. In the end the watch started to run irregular. I was a bit scared to have it serviced. My ma...

When you finally brought it in for service, did you ask them to preserve as much as possible? That could be why
no, not really.
The only thing I was very strict about was NO polishing. I feel quite strongly about this point!

I didn't ask them to NOT polish. Now I wonder if I have some Platinum that got polished away... But still, it's great you didn't get your seconds hand swapped out. Hope you can continue to keep yours intact for as you keep passing yours down the next 10 g...

I'm surprised it's 10mm thick. FPJ's watches usually look rather thin in person. One of the many reasons why I like them so much!

Both of these are so charming. Collectors who are going to get the new limited edition are so lucky. I applied but highly unlikely to get. Really love the yellow gold dial. Absolutely unique to Journe.

In fact, I was told that FPJ hasn't even started the selection process and it might boil down to a lottery. However, don't quote me on any of this as no decision has been made yet.
