A "remontoir" is a winding crown, even a child knows that and it is situated at 12 o'clock on the Chronometer a Resonance and very difficult to access, an awkward choice, but Mr Journe must have his reasons. What angries me is the unwillingness to help an... 

.. unfortunately, I didn't know what a remontoir was until I read this post, and I'm not a child. I hope Montres Journe could fix the crown problem for you quickly. I know how disappointing it feels to have a watch of this calibre and see it fall apart li...

... but only to refer to a mechanism to regularize the flow of power from the main barrel to the escapement. Anyway, hope your watch gets fixed soon. Best Andreas

"remontoir" simply means winder, i.e. the winding crown of a watch. What we often call a remontoir is just the shortened version of "remontoir d'égalité", which indeed regulates the flow of energy from the mainpring to the escapement. A friend o... 

sorry to hear this.... I hope that it will be resolved soon.... my guess is that because it is platinum (the winder) it is more sensitive...... please let us know what happens.... cheers
