First F.P. Journe - Optimum
Been a bit obsessed with FP Journe of late. Of course, I'm about 7 or 8 years late to getting them at anywhere close to list price. With 5 models I've been drooling over, I narrowed it down to 2 or 3 that seemed to have a bit less of a 'premium'.
Found this wonderful Optimum in 42mm (my preferred size) with my favorite secondary market dealer. It's quite the masterpiece, and seems a bit under appreciated compared to the admittedly iconic Tourbillons and Resonances.
Curious, if at some point I should consider sending it in for routine service, even though it seems to be working perfectly or just wait until starts misperforming?
Also, for people based in the USA, anyone know if they perform service for the Optimums at the Miami service center, or they need to send it to Geneva? Estimated service times?

I guess when to service is always controversial.
Some folks I speak to recommend not touching a watch's innards unless performance notably off. Others suggest routine service every 5-10 yrs even if running smoothly.

Watch is ~10yrs old or so, looks great, and appears to be running fine. Once new strap comes, will wear it for a week and get a better sense.

The Miami service center has been shut down. Everything goes to Geneva now.
