So its been a while since I posted an incoming for FPJ, but yesterday I collected a major grail watch of mine smile It signals the end and maybe a new beginning for my watch journey as I aim to slow down and focus on enjoying what I have, and Im gonna enjoy this one !

I waited just under 3 years to receive this watch but in truth the Optimum is the first FPJ I ever wanted. This pursuit of precision and innovation that went into making this watch is incredible, though Im sure all of you know that already.

Finally I want to thank but give credit to the folks at Aoyama Boutique. They value enthusiasts, not just big whales. They keep their word and do their best for the collectors. I am grateful that I got the allocation for this watch as I know how difficult it is now compared to 3 years ago....

Anyway, enough babbling on, heres some pics:

About the F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain Ref. chronometre

The F.P. Journe Chronomètre Souverain represents the foundational timepiece within the brand's Souveraine collection. This reference demonstrates the manufacture's approach to precision timekeeping through manual winding mechanics, positioned as a core offering in F.P. Journe's lineup.

The 40mm case is executed in 18k rose gold with a fixed bezel configuration. A sapphire crystal protects the silver dial, while the manual-winding caliber 1304 movement provides an 80-hour power reserve. The timepiece features 30-meter water resistance and is paired with a leather strap. Production commenced in 2000.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking F.P. Journe's mechanical execution in a fundamental three-hand configuration. I took me a little while to figure it out. I thought it was in reference to the black & white colors. But somebody explained that if you look at the dial with the crown facing down, the main dial and subdial resemble a penguin. A very cool hidden aspect.

And a dream watch for me. Wear it in good health. May it bring many years of enjoyment!
