I had a chance to try this piece a few days ago. The model - Automatique Titane - you probably already know it. However, you may not have seen this updated version without the rubber inserts on the bracelet. It has not yet been shown on the FPJ website an...  

If it helps, the WR is tested to 5atm, but rated at 3, so it could really go to 30m underwater if one wished.

A 3 ATM test is a theoretical pressure test. The watch industry generally says that 3 ATM test is equivalent to shower prof. There has been a lot of posts about this issue in the past. I suggest you do a forum search. You can also read a good post by Mike... 

and I too welcome the rubber less version.... even though I think I prefer the size of the earlier line sport... wr on a sport watch should be at the very minimum 5atm but ideally 10atm... otherwise I find it difficult to categorize as sports... but that ... 

Hope all is well with you my friend. I was hesitant about thie size of the LINESPORT as well but I think if you look at the last pictures I posted, it looks harmonious and works well. (Mind you, my wrist is bigger than average.) I suppose the missing lugs... 

Curious? The movement and movement size has stayed the same through all three iterations? With the changes being in the dial ( larger display date ) and also the addition of a ceramic numbered bezel?

Thorough. The rubber didn’t bother me except on the crown so getting rid of that feature is desirable. And isn’t it light as a feather?! Is this the 42mm? And what’s your opinion of gray vs. yellow?

The rubber will definitely have it’s fans. It was an original and fun idea when it was conceived with the Aluminum cases. The aesthetics is a question personal taste. I tend to have a taste form simple designs (less is more approach) while others like the... 

I use DeWalt when I bore. Guess that means I would choose the yellow dial.

But I gave it to my wife. Now it’s Makita only!

I really like this watch. So different!

Once I saw the work that goes in to that bezel I was in love. And it really gives a nice topping off to the architecture of the case. The question of size is such a personal issue. However, I think in my last pictures it looks correct on the wrist? Thank ... 

It’s weird... I’m very open about avant-garde but when it comes to size I’m pretty conservative, though I have 18.5 cm circumference.

My rule is I only by 38-40 for modern watches but this is different due to the missing logs. The dial is quite a pizza plate though 😜

It took me several years to appreciate the original design, but not the Sport line is something I would seriously consider. I had a chance to try these on earlier in the summer but the larger diameter has just pushed things slightly beyond my comfort leve...

does this mean that when it comes time for service - a prior generation ( what is it? version 2) titanium line sport could be returned to the owner without the rubber inserts and updated with the TI insert?

In my experience they are typically quite careful about the details.

I do see the website has been updated www.fpjourne.com I did ask my local boutique about the watch and they said they might not have it in till mid 2020. Has anyone else seen the watch at their boutique?

Thank you for taking the time to share these photos and your thoughts. I really love the move to non rubber, but like many, I also prefer the Souverain collection over the LineSport collection. I do see a lot of effort being spent on the LineSport collect... 

I also like the more simple expression without rubber. What I would also love to see is improvement on the water resistance. It would be a “nice to have” for piece of mind. This watch is so light and comfortable. I can definitely see a potential for it. I... 

At least as much as my nautilus, or my JLC - but not tough as a Rolex.

I have had the same concern and I asked about it at the manufacture. The Titalyt is not a coating but similar to oxidation of the surface metal where it becomes very hard. So the grey goes in to the titanium. I asked how scratch resistant it is. I was als...

The rubber inserts didn’t bother me but I do prefer this version. I think it is a very nice watch and comfortable to wear. I still would prefer the smaller case size but the 44 is still very wearable because of the absent lugs.

And when I look atr the pictures again today, I can still sense how nice this new version is. As you can see the 44 mm was not a problem and the Ti made it very light and comfortable. Dont be too scared about the 44mm!

I have been told by the boutique that the new Octa line uses a titanium alloy and not titalyt as in the Elegante.... I hope this is correct and if anyone knows differently please do share, it could very well be the staff is misinformed..

Next time I talk with Geneva I will ask them. My understanding was titalyt which pr definition is pretty close to a titanium alloy as it is a treatment of the titanium surface and not a coating on top. I will get back to you, once I know more.

It is quite possible it was lost in translation but when I asked the staff whether it was a surface treatment I was told it was an alloy and the color of the metal would be same even inside... on a bracelet watch these things can matter as the metal parts... 

I wish I could trade mine. I have the rubber one. Had to send back because rubber on crown fell off. Yours looks much more sturdy . Congratulations

This was just a try at the boutique but I went from not interested to very, very interested. I think, it was the removal of the rubber that changed it. It is also my favorite in the Sport Line.

And liked it a lot. Slightly heavier than my CMS but still felt very good on my wrist. I am considering getting one with the yellow dial. Anyone have live pics? ...

Congrulation😍👍 I had Octa sport long time before with the rubber band and aluminium made calibre, light as feather n totally different feeling on waist, especially on running & golf, full of power when u swing your waist, many memories…….

I love the sleek look of the bezel and I love even more the craftsmanship that goes behind manufacturing it. But even though it visually says “sporty”, it’s not as functional because (a) there’s no center seconds and (b) it doesn’t rotate for counting min... 

The AR's bezel serves more as a display of minutes. Why would you want it to rotate?

Whether you’re diving, timing steaks on the grill, time at the gym, etc., if you can rotate the bezel so that the minute hand starts at zero (or 60 in this case) it’s simpler than having to remember where the minute hand was when you started your activity... 

With FPJ no one knows. And if you propose or ask something he will always say no! He has his own winding roads. I will not dare to say no. I think his watches are more sporty chic, than proper sportswatches. I think a rotating bezel is more in line with a...

having tried the Breguet Titanium Marine. Aesthetic opinions aside, and I don't warm to the Marine, but Journe could learn a lot from Breguet on how to manufacture a good Ti bracelet and particularly the clasp.
