We all know that not every Resonance has worked as intended for their owners Several members here have had that direct experience, and for certain it must be frustrating. Iāve also heard stories of others with similar issues, important collectors and cust...
The CS as Christian points out below is a fantastic piece. If you could find a dial that appeals to you then Iāve no doubt it could be a core watch in your collection. My bias is towards PT, as it will be more versatile (like the CB). The dial choice is u...
Resonance always seemed to be a little hocus pocus in my highly unscientific mind. I have my doubts but Iām certainly glad it exists and is there for the collectorās who want it.
But you are of course right in your last statement. The joy here is in there being something for everyone, and all of us taking a slightly different path.
The Resonance is a great idea but for me a watch must be reliable and accurate. Despite being the signature Journe, after reading the mixed reviews on the Resonance. I can imagine it can be quite stressful to own. Watches for me are designed to provide pl...
I agree and I disagree with your statement. It can be a temperamental piece. However my feeling is this is particularly true for the first generation, if it is not well adjusted and still it can drift. My personal belief is it was constructed to an other ...
On the other hand, the first year's CBs are good. Good post, Jay, the resonance is a special watch and I have a feeling that the new resonance will be very special indeed. Still, one could say that every Journe is really Journe, his heart and DNA manage t...
Much of the issue with adjustment does seem to be on earlier pieces, although I donāt believe it was solely confined to those pieces. And in all cases and at all times, Iām a big fan of the CS too. Maybe the most underrated Journe.
.. but i remember well the fascination with the chronometre a resonance and in general with FPJ's timepieces. Although I came close, I actually never acquired one of his creations, and yet the fascination for those watches is just as it was.
Having only followed FPJ since 2012 or so, I canāt say that I see one particular timepiece as the quintessential āJourneā timepiece. Thatās what makes him a living legend. From the CS to the CB to the Resonance to the Centrigraphe to the Optimum to the Va...
There was a time when Iād have agreed this to be the quintessential Journe. Wasnāt it his first āmass-producedā piece? But like Christian said-every Journe is quintessential; iconic. Maybe not the Perpetual? But every other is just so unique. So easily di...
Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts, I did recall you were one of several I knew that had issue with the Resonance and I did think it was a newer piece. As FP said, and Christian mentioned above too, if not regulated carefully itāll be an issu...
