The BLUE 12 continued...
So I have been talking with Dominique in bespoke... and getting a red 12 on a plat Chronmetre Royal is not possible, because of its LE status. And that is as it should be. So do you know what his suggestion was? How about a blue 12! (Please see my post a few down if you do not find some small humor in this.) He thought it would look 'quite nice.' I asked him if there is any link to VC history with a blue 12.... I'll keep you updated.

I am really liking the idea
but it is a commitment. I am not sure a blue 12 would be 'right'. Yet I myself thought of it intuitively before Dominique suggested it... I'm not sure. It has to be right. I'm hoping Dominique will find a place in VC history where a blue 12 has a rightful...

Probably brighter than it would be in reality, but just for a way of imagining. I think it looks too bright here, but I could imagine it darker, more subtle... still thinking about it... all black also appeals to me in the absolute stealth manner or as Am...

especially with the blue strap to tie it all together. I believe that one of Kari Voutilainen's Oberservatory watches came with blue numbers. I'll try to dig up a picture. Bill
A bit darker blue, and it would be almost perfect....

1921 in platinum is all but certain don't you think? Red 12... up to you! Back to the CR in plat. House Version. Looking at it more and more... I don't know if a red or blue or any other color 12 would improve it. I like it's 'deliciously cold' rendering....
I was lucky enough to see it in the flesh some months ago, Mostel.
And to say all, even in this " normal " configuration ( Platinum case, white dial, black numbers ), this CR is to die for. As some watches, we just need time to fully understand and appreciate it. High in my list. Best, Nicolas
