There is much to say about this last masterpiece from Jaeger-Lecoultre, and of cours,e we'll come back to it around March or April.
Jaeger-Lecoultre unveiled a prototype of this Gyrotourbilllon III, so the final watch will receive some changes and improvements.
But I know your legendary impatience, and I will show you here, and now, two live pictures of which is, in my very own opinion, one of the winners of the SIHH, this year.
I repeat it, but the watch shown below is a PROTOTYPE.
The movement will receive some changes, as well, from what JLC told me:
A few informations, which are definitive, and a comment.
The informations:
It is a flying gyrotourbillon with a spherical hairspring,
With an instant digital chronograph ( the minutes are digital ),
A chronomonopusher,
A day night indicator, which I didn't really understand on such a watch.
It shares the new case of the latest Master Grande Tradition Jubilé, which is 43, 5 mm big, 15, 5 mm high, made of platinum.
The subdial dedicated to Time, shares the style, layout and design of the two other Jubilé pieces.
It inaugurates a new finish on a modern Jaeger-Lecoultre watch, the " Martellé ", which is very interesting.
The retail will be around 450 000 Euros.
It is a limited edition of 75 pieces.
My personal comment:
When i saw the first official picture, the Gyrotourbillon III let me a bit cold.
The first press file picture:
There was a reason to that. As you know, I am an unconditional fan of the Gyrotourbillon 1, and my heart is taken, as well as my brain.
BUT, seeing it in the flesh is a totally different story.
You will find the magic of the Gyrotourbillon associated with a sophisticated chronograph.
Mechanically speaking, it is a Jaeger Lecouoltre wztch, a blend of tradition and innovation, undisputably.
Aesthetically speaking, it is an " opus " to be seen, felt and experimented in the real life, to be fully appreciated.
A captivating watch... Another one, from the Grande Maison.
Before you ask, the Gyro 1 still remains the Number One in my heart, but this " III " is not far behind, and has a much nicer case than the " One "...
Don't panic, we'll come back to this creation in the details, as it deserves.
Best,
