Working on some old pictures is always dangerous. That feeds your desire for a watch.

So is the Gyrotourbillon One.

The design is much my taste. I know, I know, colors and tastes... But also the combination of complications: Perpetual Calendar RETROGRADE, 8 Days movement, Equation of Time, and the royal element of this watch, the Gyrotourbilloning Tourbillon.

The only reserve I have is the case. JLC proved that they were able to do better: The new Master Grande Tradition Case is much nicer, more elegant than this massive 43 mm case whose shape is not very alluring, to be honest. And they did it, with the Gyrotourbillon One Hybris Artistica:

10 years passed between the " One " and the " Artistica ", that's true.

And that is also true that I could happily live with the " One " as it is, with its case, because the rest of the watch is mind blogging, but in a perfect world... You know the story too well...

Best,

Nicolas

Your next grail?

After the Doumetre arrives?

It has always been my grail. Well, not always...

Because I first fell in love with the Master Minute Repeater Ti when it was unveiled in 2006. And the platinum version one year before, but it was quickly eclipsed by the titanium version. Once I got my MMR Ti, I started to look back at the Gyro One, the first totally crazy horological piece from JLC. And fell in love with it. So, no, it wasn't a grail at first sight... Best, Nicolas

The "One" speaks more to me, even I agree with your points on the case

Love the colours on that watch and of course the complications.

I wonder if the Artistica is not a bit too much over the top... To tell you the truth. [nt]
