Credibility and disruption

 

Received my celebration 41 recently and am very happy with it. In general I don’t like playful watches (Snoopy, mickey, clowns etc) but with this one it was different from the start.

Within branding I have always been fond of the idea of credibility and disruption - and now we have one of the most credible watch brands doing a very disruptive dial. Unlike the jigsaw dial where Rolex lost me with missing day and date functions, I consider this celebration a winner in all means: brushed steel, lots of colours to brighten the day and a workhorse caliber. Perfect addition to my green OP 41 - big thanks to my AD.

Only problem is how to tell my wife… she ordered her celebration 36 at the same time but they had only one right now 😅

Maybe let the wife borrow the 41 😅 Rolex definitely is the credible player here in the watch market. As for disruption , maybe I think of this improperly, but for disruptive I think of something that commits large scale change in segment behavior. Like iP...

I would say you can interpret disruption in different ways according to the context. With technologies and markets in general it is more what you are quoting. But within marketing (what I would apply here) it can also be a deviation or disturbance of the ...
