Breitling Superocean Ref 807 to be soon auctioned.

Let's say it straight. Seeing a Breitling Superocean Chrono ( or time only, by the way ) is something which doesn't happen every day.
In the last ten years, I have seen not more than 5. Two of them were in good, great and top condition, the three others were attacked by time.
This one is just in the average. The dial is superb, but the sub dials are not in the same condition. The insert is not bad looking at all, from what I am " used " to see.
The hands are correct, which is the most problematic detail, with the insert, for this reference.
This is another watch I am willing to follow... As I am hunting it.

15 minutes is a rounding error. Typically I miss out by a week or more after I see that something on my list was recently sold.

All than shines is not gold...
One is completely original and untouched...the other one is aftermarket bezel, retouched cleaned dial and repolished... For me no contest. The Phillips watch is like all the vintage watches should be: fully original and in its juice.
I don’t mind a cleaning & restoration, professionally done
Not so much for aftermarket parts though. I think the taste for original & worn -> deteriorated condition is a bit overblown now; original yes, deteriorated no.
Look for coherence in a vintage watch...

Both the lollipop CK 2913 and the 2915-1(!) . . .
. . . were in exceptionally good condition. Impossible to tell, though, if they hadn't been restored. They were correct, but that's not quite the same as original. Perhaps there was documentation verifying the authenticity of their condition which escaped...
The only one I personally handled . . .
. . . was the Patek Marilyn, which is one of those, "Sheesh, if I had that kind of play money, why not?" kinda watches. Love the movement and its utterly decadent yet totally refined aesthetic. It took my attention over the 2998, believe it or not. ;-)
