Breguet Classique 5177 blue enamel
Saw this at the AD today. Such an elegant and discreet piece of haute horology ! Even the date doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. Somehow the quirky shape of the date window and the effort to make the date window’s background similar in colour to the dial makes me accept it. In fact these days I start to appreciate watches with (readable) dates as I find the function useful. I know Nico would disagree for sure lol :p
It’s not an easy watch to capture on pictures. I only managed to take 1 shot which I like but even then , the blue is not really in this hue (some orange lighting in the boutique distorted how it looks on a photo).

Same sentiments. Even though I can accept the date and appreciate its function, I can’t deny the Ginza no date version is even better looking ! Cheers Robin
Besides the date window...
...the seconds hand always looks too thick to me. It appears the same thickness as the minutes hand. I would prefer that it were very thin.
This is one of my favorite pieces from Breguet.
I believe I could live with the date ....although I am not 100% sure.
I know exactly what you mean, that taking a picture is hard with the blue enamel.
I took it to the door in order to catch it with sunlight. The 5177 is superb, "even" with the date window, which does not bother me at all. You are right about the quircky shape of the date, that makes the date window even more likeable. ...

It's gorgeous. I tried one, but I would prefer more explosive bleu. The movement finish is fantastic.

I love the movement, there are even two interior angles just to demonstrate that the work is finished by hand. Plus the guillochéd rotor!
Yes, it's a cool point that purists will appreciate.
And the dial is understated cool but pops in the right light with the platinum ink used for the Breguet numerals. I keep coming back to it as this watch out shown several much more expensive watches when I first saw it with my girlfriend at the boutique. ...
