Wife and I had our first child (a son) 7 weeks ago. Been thinking about a birth year watch for a while and settled on this beauty. Called a ton of ADs in my city and explained but it was the same story: none available, quick sellers, not sure when the next will come in, call again to see if one is available for viewing or stop by in person when you can. The latter is hard to do when you have a very pregnant wife at home/ shortly thereafter a newborn son.
Fast forward we're now in a good place, thanks to much help from some very eager grandparents - and we decide to take a trip for a few days to Ottawa. While walking around downtown we come across an AD (at this point I had sort of lost hope) so I don't want to go in expecting to be disappointed - my wife gently nudges by saying "what do we have to lose?" So I enter with my wife and son and the salesperson takes one look at us and says "Birth year watch?" I tell her what I'm looking for and she goes into the back and pulls one out. The rest is history as they say. Initial impressions - loving the watch so far, feels very precisely machined, it's obviously very light and it's super comfortable on the wrist.
