A little weekend stroll.. walking into the unexpected.. :))
.. well, often on Saturdays we go for a walk, strollng through the inner City,
and sometimes do some window shopping, sometimes a bit more than this..
As the watch stores are so close by, that is most watch AD's & Boutiques are in short
walking distance, it makes always a nice opportunity to check about new arrivals,
and also browse the current Vintages..
Thus, nothing different, this weekend..
Last time my bounty was this nice 1675, 1972
So before exploring the watch stores, a little side-step :
What to visit first.. A nice Coffee house..
.. all starts with some fine Café.. plus sweet temptation
Sometimes.. You see the unexpected : 5513 with very nice patina
This one would niceley complement my 5513, from the mid 80ies, as being from mid 60ies,
having a very nice dial, and evenly patinated condition:
But then, here comes the little surprise, when the "reserve de patron" was brought up:
And a 1675, gilt, exclamation mark & PCG
And thus, a real surprise, a beautiful, gilted 1675, from mid sixties : very nice dial as well ( apologies for the mediocre
iPhone pic) - so indeed some serious food for me & thoughts..
Hence, for a preliminary summary:
Really liked the appeal of this 5513..
Just a quick WS of the gilted 1675 GMT
This would have a nicely faded bezel,gilt, PCG..
Or - wait a minute: something completely different, this time :
Explorer 1655, straight hand, Albino .. Never before thought about it..
Something unexpected, which I somehow liked..
Thus, this was the outcome of an peaceful Saturday morning, with some coffees
- Hence alas, I'll think it over, (several nice things & projects to be expected this year, to be "accomodated"),
although I already have a faint idea, what I'll be doing..

The unexpected
Is always (if positive) the most satisfying. I like the 1675 Gilt dial GMT. I would give that some thought. This will be likely become more of a classic than it already is. A charming watch for sure. Thank you for sharing. best Edmond
