The 2020 'Pasha de Cartier'.

Apr 25, 2020,04:18 AM

Cartier announced the new Pasha de Cartier.

The time only models have the Manufacture 1847MC caliber and the case sizes are 41mm
with a date function and a 35mm model without the date window.
All Pasha models will be delivered with a bracelet and a leather strap with deploying buckle.
The crown is re-designed. Under the cap, the winding crown is enlarged and is also set with a spinel or sapphire.
The winding crown gives much better grip and winding the watch is not difficult anymore.
Next to the steel models that I have seen, there will be yellow-and pink gold versions and models with complications.
Although visually not that  has changed, you can see that the watches do have another look,
than previous collections.

While I like the fact that the dial appears to have been cleaned up compared to the last iteration,

I have to agree that the cockeyed date at 4:00 is just awful. Never was one of my favorites from Cartier, though.

I do not believe that this is Cartier's best design move.

Definitely underwhelming to me.

I think the Pasha is a bit of a feminine looking watch and looks a bit dated. Pardon the pun.

I was always torn in it and almost bought one years ago but today .......hmmmm...... I like the overall dial design except for the date location but the rest just doesn't work for me anymore.

That cap though::

The cap and winding crown are pretty to look at but seem proportionally large for the timepiece.

+1 [nt]

when it’s not overtly gauche. I have had several versions on the past, but a few definitely were quite “in your face”. I’d like to see this one on the metal, although I do think the solid hands (sans lume) is a misstep.

True to form

The guilloche dial subtly setting out the hour lines and the solid blued hands are both great features in my book that pay homage to the original design. I also like the double spinel/sapphire - a nice Easter egg for the owner only. I am personally less a...

Like it very much! A great re-start for Cartier.

To me it seems to be a successful redesign of one of the rather rare independent case designs in horology.
