I like how you compare the Santos to the Explorer.
Both are very popular watches and both have their own 'fans'.
Your choice to go for the smaller version, would be mine as well,
to me this size is large enough and it looks great without the date.
The fact that the new Santos finally has an inhouse movement,
may be a plus for many, but there was nothing wrong with the ETA caliber
that Cartier used for many years; it is definitly a strong, good and reliable
caliber.
Enjoy your new watch, it looks stunning, also on the supplied leather strap.

Thanks MTF, I am a bracelet person and I personally feel this is one of the best feeling bracelet I have tried.
It is more comfortable than an oyster bracelet and is on par with a Rolex jubilee bracelet in terms of quality and comfort. In fact it also reminds me of a less blingy version of the APRO bracelet which is my favourite.

My 1 year old Drive Moon Phase runs at -0.4 to +3.2 secs a day.
Though it’s not precisely measured as it doesn’t have a seconds hand.
