Honestly, the popularity of the OF is pretty remarkable, especially for a watch not produced by the big names in this field -- even if it doesn't rise to the level of creating long waiting lists, it's still a highly successful line among collectors! ;-)
It's understandable (and fully deserved) that Bulgari continues to capitalize on it, be it with more regular iterations or with LEs (but yes, one might legitimately argue these are too many...and I am generally not a fan of abusing this concept ;-)
Will the OF ever reach the iconic status of a Nautilus or RO? Most likely not, but as I argued elsewhere, I doubt even the Nautilus itself would have reached....Nautilus status without "Patek Philippe" written on the dial! 
However, in this segment, I wouldn't be surprised if the OF will remain a big favorite over the new XPS among collectors. Cheers.
