Poor finishing and poor quality control.
You said it yourself "mistakes". The first photo shows a hand that has been mishandled. A tweezer that slept, something like that. This is an accident and yes, this is not acceptable,it shouldn't have left the bench before changing the hand. Shouldn't have pass the quality control either if there is one. It is a bit the same for the little touch of painting on the hand.
On the other hand, we have some manufactures that choose to have a poor finishing level. A looooot of brands are concerned. Some Patek's anglage photos have been discussed a lot there and there. few weeks back I pointed out some poor finishing choices on a JLC spherotourbillon. The other day, I had a Journe with cheap cote de genève, dial foot unfinished near the balance wheel unpolished anglages in some area,.. These are no mistakes, accidents, there are people behind who chose to save a few bucks on the finishing.OK these are not only "few bucks" per say, but when, let's say, the extra cost would be less than 5%, and if the brand dare to talk about history, traditions, hand-made... then this is a problem for me.
