Visited the Breguet museum in Paris

I was in Paris last week and visited the Breguet museum in Place Vendôme. For those of you who haven’t gone, it’s a great stop for Breguet lovers. The staff is very knowledgable and happy to chat about all things Breguet. Here are some of the watches that I saw. Please excuse the poor quality; the photos were taken with my iPhone and the lighting was challenging.

Reminds me of the 7787 a little.

The inspiration for the 7137

One of the first self-winding (perpétuelle) watches

Reminiscent of the 7147, but with roman numerals

Guilloché dial similar to the 5140

A souscription watch

The third tourbillon ever

Inspiration for the Tradition line

Loved the moon face on this one

One of the many dials that resembled the 7337

A 20th century perpetual calendar

A 1930s wandering hours pocket watch

A wandering hours wristwatch

Could you tell me more about the Breguet museum? Is it owned by Swatch or by a collector who likes Breguet pieces?

Owned by the brand. There are actually three museums, though the Paris one is the original. I think Nicolas Hayak was the one who pushed hard to acquire important historical pieces and have them displayed to the public (for free). The Paris museum is abov...

Thank you for the pictures!

It must have been incredible to witness so many masterpieces together.

It’s a wonderful museum that deserves a lengthy visit even if it isn’t huge.
