I heard something clever:
The more kids you have, the more you need a Carrera.
I have three daughters and there's no way to squeeze them to the back seats of a Carrera. This means that when the whole family goes somewhere together, the car will be in our case a Cayanne. But when some time between "just two of us" is needed, then it will be lovely to take the Carrera.
I agree that the MB you tried is not bad. I tested the 63AMG when I had the V-10 M5. It's a matter of taste (said the dog when leaking his balls), but I felt much more confident with M5. The MB was somehow too soft taking into account the engine.
We have here roughly one meter of snow, it's minus 6 degrees and the sun is shining. So my best regards from winter,
