I think the guilloché, blued hands, design aesthetic, and history drew me in. The gray market factors allowed me to access Breguet in a way that I wouldn't have otherwise.
A 5177bb with white grand feu dial is almost exactly what I would have pictured as a child if you had asked me then what a fine watch looked like.
So different, yet the similarities are enlightening!

I could live with the more discrete version pictured above. Less so with the Red 10Hz.
Yes, the prototype! They really wanted to say Breguet is as much about the future as the past.

Joking aside with the 10Hz label, this is one of the most accurate and beautiful movement out there. Why invent it and then not use it. To my knowledge they only did 2 models (7727 and a type XX) more then 10 years ago . Breguet, please re-introduce this ...
They also have a patent for a natural escapement!
I believe they are going to introduce their version of a Spring Drive in the coming years. So, there's a lot of stuff behind the scenes! I think the 10hz movements need a 41mm case.
Some people have a harder time with the 10hz for sure!
I can see why Breguet wanted to remind people that they are about innovation, not just traditional looks!
I am not bothered by the 10 HZ. On pictures sticks out but fairly discreet in real life.
I love the technical innovation, the dial. But can't get beyond the finish of the movement ... Not acceptable at this level.

I have been tempted by 7727 several times.
I am enormously glad that this watch exists. Maybe I am too spoiled by Lange ... But even relative to GO or entry level Patek (or even the sister Blancpain) in my eyes the finishing looks sloppy in the couple of examples that I have had a chance to examin...
I agree, the dial is beautiful and very classic Breguet but it doesn't live up to the movement

As I understand, they are prototyping a spring drive-like movement now, so maybe we will see that next.
