 By: m2 : November 1st, 2023-07:52
Phillips has this in their upcoming auction and seriously thinking of bidding on it. They claim itโ€™s a piece unique, any idea if that is true? MODERATOR EDIT: I cannot verify if Phillips claims this is a piece unique - I could not find this on the Phillip...

Interesting RE: 5. Which configs?

Unique is likely. Exceptionally rare is guaranteed.

If you are serious, I wouldn't trust anything they auction house says. The lie. They shown they lie in the past and they have never shown any remorse or acknowledgement for lying so there is no reason not to believe they will again to make a sale. If you ...

Yep!

All the auction houses get caught so frequently but unfortunately they are also the ones with the super rare pieces

Good advice BigFatPauli!

They're basically saying they haven't seen another one...they are not explicitly stating it's unique. It def seems rare but they did stop short of saying it's unique.

Hi Patrick, it's in the last paragraph of the Catalogue Essay...

"If looks and technical prowess boost the attractiveness of the piece, its rarity propels it above any other representative of the model. Lapis lazuli is a material hardly ever used by Breguet, which as mentioned before relies usually on engine-turning fo...

Gotcha! Thanks!

I must've missed this! It's a beautiful piece! Our poster, M2, has great taste in watches!

Well, question to you...

 By: patrick_y : November 5th, 2023-18:31
Where do you see that Phillips "claim it's a unique piece." Where does it state that? I couldn't find it. And you're making this claim and your post is about verifying this supposed claim that Phillips made. We've all got to be careful that we don't sland...

They strongly imply it lol

 By: m2 : November 5th, 2023-18:53

Well... That's not the same as stating it is unique. You just put words in Phillips' mouth so to speak.

 By: patrick_y : November 6th, 2023-08:38
The standard for accuracy when making an accusation is quite high - you accused Phillips of claiming that it's a unique and then you announced your suspicion that it's not unique. Now we find out that Phillips never claimed it was unique... I find that ne...

....I like finding watches that others miss. I was browsing auctions the other day and told my wife about the Daniels I wasn't going for and the Roger Smith I was willing to take a pass on. "That's ok" she said "if you find one with a lapis dial you can b...

.....$161K USD with buyers premium..... Perhaps there are a few who know or believe it is indeed unique. ...perhaps Breguet itself?
