The quartz crisis of the automotive world?
The rate of innovation in software and electronics is soooooo much faster than traditional automotive engineering that its going to have to change the entire auto buying model. In the US we have a ton of auto loans on 3, 5, and even 7 year schedules. How many people have a 7 year old iPhone..... that they are still paying for? A laptop? Will it make sense to spend ~$60k on a car that might be worth $6k in 5 years?
